On-Location Photography Workshops with Donna Cosentino
Each workshop offers a variety of image-making opportunities including scenic, architectural, still life, painting with light, and more. All levels of skill are welcome and the number of participants is limited. Donna has been teaching college-level photography classes for twenty years and is currently a full-time Assistant Professor of Photography at Palomar Community College in San Marcos. She managed the famous International Photography Competition and Exhibition at the San Diego County Fair for ten years, and has been a volunteer docent at the Museum of Photographic Arts for over fifteen years. Donna worked for several years as a photojournalist for a local daily newspaper, was director of The Photographer’s Gallery in Escondido for four years and she is a member of several organizations including the Sierra Club’s Photo Section, Women’s Caucus for Art, the Escondido Arts Partnership and the North County Photographic Society. She exhibits her work as a member of the distinguished Ordover Project in Solana Beach and a portfolio of her work is on view at www.ordoverproject.com. Donna’s popular workshops often include daily mini-lectures on such topics as Capturing a Sense of Place, Seeing in Black and White and Camera Consciousness. She focuses on problem-solving and always includes a night photography session. Some workshops are ‘retreat style’…staying in Bed-and-Breakfast locations such as Bailey’s Palomar Resort or Cerro Gordo Ghost Town. Workshop participant numbers are limited which allows Donna and her assistants plenty of one-on-one time. Freewheeling mealtime discussions, good fellowship and savoring Nature’s gifts are all distinctive hallmarks of her workshops.
